I don't know about my camel knees, but I've got a gorilla arm following my yellow fever jab. My arms dragging on the floor!! Less than a month to go. Can't wait. we've got our interary through. Our time will be split between working in the pre school leading lessons, and doing social action activities in the favellas. Thanks everyone for your generous donations of craft material for the pre school activites
INSPIRED BY SHEENA DAYMAN

Whilst on Hope FM talking about the Brazil Mission Trip yesterday, Sheena Dayman called to say that she does not have knees like a camel!! Curious comment, but maybe we should have knees like camels...and if we don't...then perhaps we should pray more:
'James, the brother of the Lord, and the author of this Epistle, was nicknamed “Camel-knees” by the early Church. James had been so slow of heart to believe that his brother, Jesus, could possibly be the Christ, that, after he was brought to believe, he was never off his knees. And when they came to coffin him, it was like coffining the knees of a camel rather than the knees of a man, so hard, so worn, so stiff were they with prayer, and so unlike any other dead man’s knees they had ever coffined.'

Inspiration From Sally Bedborough's Healing Service
There is no point going on a journey unless you learn the lessons of your travel and apply them...remembering your destination is not your end goal!

Better late than never...
Hurrah! I finally got in. I tried it from work, but it kept coming up in German. I may be fluent in Portuguese, but my German is a bit rusty.....
This is cool...Thanks Chris!

It seems 5 minutes ago there was 6 months to go, and now there's only 6 weeks to go. The suitcase is in the garden airing.
Lots of questions going through my mind these days. Where do I put the sleeping bag do I pack it in the suitcase or carry it as hand luggage? Does the freezer hold two weeks worth of food? How am I going to communicate in a language I don't speak? What has God got in store for me?
Now all I need is the answers, oh and my yellow fever jab

Thoughts on the trip so far
I must admit that before I went to Birmingham I did not fully realise the gravity of what I was getting myself into. That day away put into sharp focus what we were about to undertake, pressing home the reality of our impending venture. This did however intensify the excitement I feel about the trip, together with realising that I will need to rely more on God than ever before to use me in the way he best sees fit. I know God's plan has been in this from the outset, and the outpouring of money and generosity has more than expressed this. My prayer is that God will continue to enable us and prepare us mentally over the following weeks leading up to the trip, and that people would continue to pray for us.

Not long now!
Unbelievably it is only 1 month, 1 week and 6 days until the team's flight leaves for Sao Paulo to begin the adventure of a life time! Praise God that all the fundraising is now complete too which is just the most amazing sign of God's hand on our trip.
Sally Bedborough said something in an evening service which seemed a great quote which remains a challenge for the whole team (even if we don't entirely understand it at the moment:
'There is no point going on a journey unless you learn the lessons of your travel and apply them, remembering that your destination is not your end goal.'
I wonder what God has in store for us!
